01 — Bonds

We acquire distressed
bonds.

We structure solutions for corporate bonds in default, restructuring, issuer insolvency and non-standard situations with limited liquidity. Each case is assessed individually — with no acquisition guarantee and no public offering of securities.

Currently accepting holders

We handle specific bond cases with open holder intake — including the ŠtěpánekAuto / ŠAInvestment / GAAInvestment issues.

Case assessment

Preliminary assessment of real estate and bonds

Initial case intake is free of charge. For distressed bonds the model is simple: CZK 0 for the preliminary assessment, CZK 12,900 for the full professional review and proposed solution, 5% only if an approved transaction is executed. Each case is assessed individually by Capital Investing Ventures.

Assessment

Preliminary assessment

CZK 0

Free submission of your documents and an initial consultation. Nothing is ordered and nothing is paid.

  • basic data, a copy of the bond and the documents you have
  • basic screening of the issuer and the issue
  • a decision on whether CIV accepts the case for a professional review
  • a list of the documents still required
Recommended

Professional review and proposed solution

CZK 12,900

The only paid assessment service for distressed bonds. A standalone professional service with no guarantee of a purchase.

  • full review of the bond, the issuer and the documentation
  • maturity, legal and economic situation, risks and scenarios
  • a specific proposal for the next steps
  • client zone and case record included at no additional fee
  • if CIV decides it has its own investment interest, it may submit an individual purchase offer
Assessment

Execution of the approved solution

5% of the accepted original principal and accepted yield

Charged only if you accept a specific CIV offer and the transaction is actually executed. It is a transaction fee for taking over and settling the asset, not a brokerage commission.

  • contractual documentation and signatures
  • transfer of the bonds and contractual set-off
  • settlement and closing administration
  • settlement usually within 30 days of signing and of all transaction conditions being met
Client zone

Client zone and case record

To continue with a detailed assessment, the client may be granted secure access to the client zone, where the status of the case, selected documents, requests for additional documentation and further steps are visible.

For bonds, the client zone and case record are part of the CZK 12,900 professional review — with no additional activation fee.

The client zone does not display internal documents, internal analyses or CIV's business decisions. The client sees only information and documents approved for external viewing.

The services listed represent a preliminary commercial and transactional assessment. They do not constitute legal, tax, expert or investment advice. Prices and the scope of services may vary depending on the nature of the specific case.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

+

Do you buy bonds where the issuer has stopped paying interest or principal?

Yes. We assess acquisitions of corporate bonds where the issuer is in arrears on coupons or principal. Each case is reviewed individually based on the issue terms, security and the issuer's condition. Acquisition is not guaranteed and this is not a public offering of securities.

+

What can I do if the bond issuer is insolvent or bankrupt?

We review the Czech insolvency register (ISIR), the filed claim, any security and the creditor's real position. Depending on the outcome we propose either an acquisition of the bond claim or a structured solution alongside other bondholders. Insolvency does not automatically rule out an acquisition.

+

Do defaulted bonds still have any value?

A bond in default usually loses market liquidity but is not necessarily worthless. Value depends on collateral, issuer assets, guarantors, limitation periods and enforceability. Our assessment quantifies exactly this residual value.

+

How does a distressed bond acquisition work step by step?

1) Submit the case and documents. 2) Review of issue terms, issuer and public registers. 3) Written assessment and, where relevant, an indicative offer. 4) Contractual documentation and transfer. Assessment typically takes days.

+

Which documents do you need?

Issue terms, the subscription agreement, proof of ownership, correspondence with the issuer and any reminders, court or insolvency documents. Everything is handled confidentially.

+

What does it cost and is the offer binding?

The initial case assessment is charged according to the published price list; any acquisition offer is non-binding and always subject to internal approval and written contract. We guarantee neither acquisition nor return.
